Training & development

In our 23-year history, Childline has clocked up hundreds of hours training our volunteers and professionals - whether it be our social workers, counsellors, crisis line operators, safe house mothers, or educators in the Community Awareness and Prevention Programme.

Our strength in reaching and helping the many vulnerable children in South Africa lies in our partnership approach - working collectively with our partners to make a difference to those children whose lives we touch. When it comes to training, it is no different. In training our own people, we soon realised that others could benefit from our years of training experience. And so we have taken our training to other volunteers and professionals - whether they be community caregivers, social workers or police officers - who work in the field of Child Protection and Children’s Rights.

But we didn’t stop there. We took a step further and now offer a range of training programmes – from Positive Parenting to HIV training - to companies wanting to offer their employees assistance through Employee Assistance Programmes.
